GETTING RID OF MY OMBRE: BACK TO BROWN HAIR

If you know me personally or follow me on my social media (links in sidebar) you'll know that i previously ombre'd my hair. I'd never died my hair in the past so it was a completely new experience for me and not going to lie, I was quite scared on how it would turn out. I actually had a hard time with the whole process. My main issue was as i didn't want to bleach my hair, trying to get a blonde colour on my naturally dark brown hair wasn't working, the colour was turning out as a more of a caramel/light brown colour. -which i didn't have a problem with, but just wasn't what i wanted. As the colour was fading it was turning into a brassy orangy colour which was a nightmare as it was a completely different colour to what i'd hoped for. I stuck it out and tried purple shampoos to tone the colour, but nothing made that much of a difference. I decided that it would be better for my hair and easier to just dye it back, instead of paying loads of money to try and lighten the colour for me not to like it. (I got my ombre done professionally-not using a box dye)

The box dye i used was from L'oreal and in the shade 'Dark Brown' This was actually a really lovely colour for me as it matched really well only being a slightly darker shade than my natural hair colour. The process and application of colour was really simple and easy.

You mix 1 in with 2 and shake it, which allows the contents to mix to create the dye. You simply then apply it to your hair starting from your roots, working down to the ends of your hair. You allow the dye to sit for 20 minuets before washing the product out and following with the conditioner which comes in the set. (I didn't use the conditioner-but is a personal preference)

This is the finished product, i actually really like how it came out. Initially i thought my hair was going to turn out black so i washed my hair straight after rinsing the dye out with head and shoulders -this allowed some of the dye to rinse out before it had set in my hair. After doing so, my hair was a left as a dark brown like said on the box.
From where my ombre had been previously, my ends are a lighter colour, not by a lot just a lighter shade of brown. I actually really like this as it helps the colour to look more natural and blended. however if you wanted one colour, which i may in the future i'd just have to dye it again with the same dye.
Unfortunately i don't have any pictures of my hair with the ombre, but overall i am surprisingly very happy with my results. This is the first time dying my hair using a box dye and i am very impressed. This dye is only semi-permanent, so may dye my hair again, depending on how the colour fades.
