NARS SHEER GLOW

After months and months of wanting this foundation, i decided i would put it on my Christmas list and see what Santa new about make up. I was told by my mum that i indeed could get the foundation but i needed to be colour matched first as she didn't want to spend all of the £30.50 for it to be the wrong shade. I went into my local House Of Fraser where one of the workers kindly matched me up to be the colour 'Deauville'. Even though i would say this colour is a great match for me, the woman who matched me up was very disappointing: her application was poor, she used her hands -which i didn't have a problem with, but she didn't blend it in properly so i was left with a noticeable line on my jaw line and little patches around my nose where it wasn't blended in. Of course I didn't notice this until i was outside on my way home in the daylight and i'm not one of those people to go back and complain -even though i know i should have. Anyways sorry about the sidetrack thought i'd tell you about my experience there, Has this happened to any of you when you've been to be colour matched?.. Anyway onto the review! *cheers*

Nars sheer glow is one of the holygrail products of the majority of bloggers, youtubers and make up artists. Everyone and there dog has heard about it, So FINALLY after all of the hype that has surrounded the product ever since it first came out, i decided it was about time i gave it a go.

PACKAGING: The packaging like all the Nars products is super simple yet looks sleek and in a way expensive. I love the glass bottle with the famous Nars logo on the side. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't come with a pump -unless you want to spend an extra £3.

COLOUR: My colour is 'Deauville' The forth lightest colour out of the 20 shades available -which i think is a great variety.

TEXTURE: If you own this foundation you'll probably know that the coverage isn't really 'sheer' like the name would suggest, but to me i like the coverage as you can create a light weight sheer base or a light weight base with a higher coverage which can cover any imperfections and blemishes- which i love! However the full coverage still leaves my skin looking natural and fresh! The texture is a thick creamy liquid which dries to a powder when applied, yet leaves my skin looking dewy without looking greasy.

MY THOUGHTS: I've only been using this for a few days and to be honest i'm still getting used to it, the finish is completely different to previous foundations I've used. The finish is a lot more powdery than i thought it would be. I did find by the end of the day that the foundation had separated a bit on my chin, but i think that was due to my skin being so dry and dehydrated due to the cold weather. However my face was kept looking matte throughout the whole day and the rest of my face and make up still looked pretty perfect. Overall I'm really glad i picked this up as it is a really versatile foundation: I love that you can achieve a sheer or full coverage and I personally love that it does't have an SPF as it makes it perfects for nights out or where a lot of pictures are going to be taken, meaning that the flash won't make you look like a ghost. As I mentioned previously I've only been using this for a little while so i'll keep you updated, I'm sure I'll be smitten to it in a few weeks like everyone else who has tried it?!

Thankyou for reading my blog, be sure to follow as i'll be doing a giveaway when i reach 100 followers!

Have you tried Nars Sheer Glow-What are your thoughts?

  1. Great review, i've also been debating whether or not to take the plunge and try it! My main concern was the shades and whether or not their would be one light enough (and of course the hefty price tag!!!)

    1. thankyou, i think the best thing to do is to go to a nars counter and get them to try it on you and maybe give you a sample so you can try it out for a while before buying it as its quite expensive :)

  7. Fab post, really informative :) I tried this a couple of years ago so can't remember much about it except that I bought the wrong shade so didn't really use it much. Your post has possibly tempted me to revisit it and this time I'll get colour matched lol :) xx
